Master Botanist 1451 Posts | Any specific questions I should ask of them?
I've got a few:
1. What's happening to each coaster?
2. Will the Island in the Sky return?
3. Will the "Cypress Gardens" name be used for the Botanical Gardens?
4. What's happening to the Mansion/Butterfly house/topiary area?
5. Will concerts return?
6. What new attractions will be added to the water park?
7. What's going on with the Cypress Belle?

Master Botanist 1451 Posts | Ok, I wasn't able to talk to many officials, because the place was so crazy, but I got a few answers:
There's no definite answer yet if the name "Cypress Gardens" will be used for the Botanical, the person I talked to just gave me his standard, "It will be preserved, but with a Lego spin!" answer.
The Mansion will be fine and used for special events.
The water park will reopen (we knew this) but nothing will be added until after the park reopens.
I guess the best news for coaster fans is that the Starliner is being moved. This was an official announcement by John Ussher who is supervising the building of the park.
The Triple H survives to become a part of "Dino Island."
Looks like most of the buildings from Jubilee survive and are just re-themed.
John said that the Helena road diversion will keep LLF traffic away from private housing, and that the expansion will allow them to add parking. I'm hoping that means they'll use the NEW space for parking and use at least a part of the old lot for new stuff.
Amazingly, I noticed that there'll still be Pizza where Adventure Arcade once was!
Anyway, I'm posting this so I can upload my photos. Look under the LegoLand section (sort by Newest First.)

Ace Arcader 234 Posts | I'm guessing Starliner's new home wants to make the announcement themselves as to where its going. Great news that the coaster found a new home, I just hope they're stable. |   | -------------------- Let's hope that new MSAP can pull off one of the greatest homecomings Panama City Beach ever had!

Master Botanist 1451 Posts | Ok, by looking carefully at the Aunt Julie's photo, I can see that the old Topiary Garden is going to become "Mini Land", where all the Lego models will go.
So, I guess that area won't get torn up too much with the change, but I can see why they took out the topiaries.

--Guest-- | I browsed the local media outlets and watched video of the event. wftv (from orlando, www.wftv.com) has aerial video of the park. It looks horrible! They have lots of work to do there! Neat to see the before pictures.
I can attest as being a member that brought the park back up in 2004, that many 90 hour weeks are ahead! |

Ace Arcader 234 Posts | ^ Your work was much appreciated, Cypress Gardens looked incredible those two trips I visited. I liked it much better than Wild Adventures ( to paraphrase that famous gold Droid , Wild Adventures was "much too walkie" compared to Cypress Gardens). |   | -------------------- Let's hope that new MSAP can pull off one of the greatest homecomings Panama City Beach ever had!
